Condolence From: Mary King
Condolence: Thank you so much for your service Henry.

We were all so lucky to have known such a soul. I was particularly blessed having known Hank. Not having known any of my grand parents I felt I had one in Hank. He made us smile, laugh, and think. Thank you so much for the laughter.

He kept going even when he was told, (while in hospice in a nursing home), that he did not have much more time to live. Ahh but they were so wrong. Hanky had more to do and to give... not to mention ladders to climb at age 93! They didn't realize they were talking to someone from the Greatest Generation. He was only five years old when the Great Depression struck on October 29th, 1929 and he was 15 years old when it ended and WWII began that previous month on September 1st of 1939 when Germany invaded Poland. I believe he became a soldier in WWII three years later at the age of 18 where nearly 417,000 US Military deaths took place. How much more he saw and lived through and yet he always had a smile to share.

How sweet that a neighborhood bar i.e. Freddy's West End and their patrons became his adopted family and he became our adopted Grand Pa… ( yet he still sired a "Baby" in his 90's :-). Freddy's will never be as bright and filled with laughter as it was when Hanky and Carter played the piano. He will be missed and fondly remembered by so many!

Give all our friends and loved ones up there a hug Hanky…xoxo

Much Love and Prayers,

Mary
